Away weekend
Phobians had a very successful away weekend. Runners took part in the 10, 21,1 and 42,2 km races. The races were hard but very enjoyable. Thereafter, everyone was able to relax and enjoy the resort. The potjiekos competition was a huge success. There were 5 delicious pots:
- Vis and Ada made a Morrocan dish (which won)
- Fred made an oxtail pot (judged the best Phobian pot)
- Piet produced a pork pot which went down very well
- Louis’s beef potjie was a great hit
- Phillip cooked a delicious chicken potjie
The bread competition produced some very “unusual’ loaves. Elise was judged the winning bread-maker.
The only down side was that Gizelle managed to lose the prizes, twice! The poor winners thus had to be satisfied with a few home-grown clivias instead. Prizes will thus be awarded officially at the Awards Evening in January 2010. The cooks will be glad to hear that they will receive R300 each for making the potjies.
